I joined Raytheon under the Intelligence & Space division as a Full Stack Software Engineer (SC Cleared). I became part of a cross-functional delivery team responsible for multiple secure, large-scale production systems serving high-profile clients.
Delivery & Performance
The team followed SCRUM methodology in a strict DevOps/TDD environment. I worked on a range of complex TypeScript and React projects deployed on AWS using Lambda, SQS, and API Gateway. I took a lead role in load testing one particular product, where I optimised both JavaScript and SQL workloads to achieve up to a 5× performance improvement for mission-critical Lambda functions.
I also led the creation of internal API development standards that were adopted across multiple teams, and I was responsible for monitoring and debugging production systems using Grafana and CloudWatch dashboards.
Elite Delivery Team
A standout moment was being selected from approximately 500 engineers for an elite 6-person team assembled to deliver a high-profile, mission-critical product under an extremely compressed timescale. We successfully delivered the product and I received a letter of recognition from the customer highlighting our outstanding work.
